What is Amaretto?
Amaretto is actually a well-known liqueur with a bittersweet almond flavor and cherry undertones. It’s described as having a similar flavor to marzipan, which is often used in baking cakes and similar desserts.
This slightly sweet and nutty flavor is popular in coffee and for good reason! The almond taste can really bring out certain notes in some coffee, or even complement others.
What is Amaretto Coffee Creamer?
Since many people have enjoyed amaretto in their coffee, the flavor can be found in the form of coffee syrups. However, it’s most commonly found in coffee creamers, as popular brands such as International Delight have an amaretto selection.
Amaretto really gives any coffee a nutty, warm, and baked sort of taste. With our recipe, you can use the coffee creamer in many different ways and create a delicious moment in your cup every time.
How to Make Your Own Amaretto Coffee Creamer
The best thing about being able to make your own coffee creamer within the comfort of your home is that you can choose what goes in it. If you want it a little less sweet, or a little more of one flavor than the other, it’s all up to you!
Another great thing is that it’s so easy to make, especially with this amaretto coffee creamer recipe we’ve crafted for you!
You’ll Need:
- 1 (14 oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 ½ cups of milk
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- sealable container
The Process:
Step One:
First, you want to pour the can of sweetened condensed milk into your container of choice.
We used a mason jar for easier shaking and storing, we highly recommend doing this!
Step Two:
Next, you can add the liquid milk to your jar. We used whole milk for our creamer, but if you’d prefer to use any milk substitute, that’s perfectly fine.
You could even use almond milk if you really wanted to add even more almond flavor to your amaretto creamer.
Step Three:
Finally, add the almond extract and cinnamon powder to the mixture. Once every ingredient is in, you can then close your container and shake it up to ensure that the sweetened condensed milk is combined.
Step Four:
Now that you’ve made your nutty amaretto coffee creamer, you can add it to whatever type of coffee you desire!
When we made this, we put just a little of the creamer in two shots of espresso and it was amazing! Later on, we also tried steaming a bit for some dark roast and that made the baked, nutty, and cinnamon flavors really come out.

The baked cinnamon and almond flavor makes for a comforting taste that’s not too sweet and not too bitter.
With this recipe, you can store the creamer for up to two weeks, just make sure that you shake it up really well before you use it again since the sweetened condensed milk tends to sink to the bottom after a period of time.
