Mmmm the beloved caramel macchiato. Who doesn’t love a sweet and creamy caramel macchiato?!

Ok, that’s a trick question. My roommate. My roommate doesn’t love caramel macchiato’s! But, if you’re in the sane 98% of society and can attest to the deliciousness that is this drink, then keep on reading my friend.

A coffee house staple is brought to the comfort of your own kitchen with simple ingredients you probably already have on hand. In a few quick minutes, you’ll be sipping your worries away and didn’t even have to leave your pjs.

Iced Caramel Macchiato

First, let’s break down what a Caramel Macchiato actually is, other than a fun word to keep saying over and over.

It is a layered espresso drink of vanilla syrup, cold milk, espresso (or strong brewed coffee) and caramel sauce. The traditional Macchiato does not have whipped cream, but I advise bucking the trend on that one.

You’ll need…

  • 8oz Strong brewed coffee or instant espresso
  • Ice  
  • 2 oz vanilla syrup
  • ½ cup milk of your choosing (I used whole)
  • 2 Tablespoons caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • (2) 8-12oz glasses

Instructions

Step 1:

Prep: Brew coffee, let cool, and fill the glass up with ice.

Step 2:

Add 1oz of vanilla syrup to the glass.

Step 3:

Drizzle the caramel sauce over the sides of the glass. Then, carefully pour 4oz of milk into the glass.

Step 4:

Pour the coffee/espresso through the center of the milk.

Step 5:

Top with whipped cream and a generous drizzle of caramel sauce.

Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
